DTU’s Virtual Career Night gave students a glimpse of a future career path

Thursday 08 Apr 21
Almost 200 DTU students were gathered behind the screens when Virtual Career Night was live-transmitted from DTU’s library at Lyngby Campus in March 2021.

The library at DTU’s Lyngby Campus is usually buzzing with activity. However, these days it is awfully quiet. Luckily the library was put to proper use again on the 10th of March when it became a live-studio for DTU’s first Virtual Career Night. The event was a three hour live-show where six Talent Partner companies presented their career opportunities to DTU’s students. The hosts Jeppe Seidenfaden and Jakob Høgh from DTU’s administration started out by introducing the students to the bright job horizon for future engineers, after which EPOS took over to present their career options. The six companies presenting were EPOS, BCG with their digital entities BCG Platinion and BCG Gamma, KPMG Denmark, EY, IT and Development Agency of the Danish Ministry of Taxation and BEC. All companies presented exciting career opportunities for a diverse group of engineers as well as many options for newly educated graduates, e.g. graduate programmes.

The students behind their laptops were on fire and asked 71 questions in total to the companies. The participants came from 30 different field of studies and many different nationalities.

One student said the following after the event:

“I really enjoyed it and got a lot of information in a formal/informal way.”

The event was organised as part of DTU’s new Talent Partner programme for companies wishing to attract and recruit talented newly educated engineers. All the companies who took part of Virtual Career Night are DTU Talent Partners. Would you like to become one too?
